Finish the Project You Keep Expanding

Define the smallest useful version, stop adding scope, and ship it within 14 days.

14 days3–5 focused sessions4 milestonesSelf-guided by defaultCompanion optional

This may be the right Journey if...

You already know the project and keep reopening its scope
A smaller useful result can be shown, sent, or tested within two weeks
You control enough of the work to close scope decisions

Choose another approach if...

No useful result can exist without a long team roadmap
The work is unsafe, legally blocked, or controlled by someone else

What you should have after 14 days

Define one user-visible smallest useful version
Freeze what is outside the current scope
Ship, send, or test the result once

What this Journey includes

1

Name the smallest useful result

Define what one real user can see, use, or review.

2

Freeze the current scope

Move every nonessential idea to a later list.

3

Complete one visible slice

Finish the smallest end-to-end path before polishing.

4

Ship or test once

Release, send, publish, or show the bounded result.

When the plan goes off course

Missing a step is treated as information, not failure.

Northbound checks whether the step was too large, badly timed, blocked by a constraint, or no longer pointed at the right result. Then your Wayfinder offers one smaller, better-timed, or more honest next step.

Default adjustment: check scope and session size then shrink.

Privacy and Companion

Project drafts and private Wayfinder conversations remain private. A Companion sees only explicitly shared milestones or summaries.
Your Wayfinder conversation, private notes, and setup answers stay private unless you explicitly share them.
A Companion can see only milestones or summaries you choose to send; they cannot open your private Wayfinder chat.
You can continue self-guided and invite or remove support separately from the Journey plan.

Preview of the first step

Write the one user-visible result that would make the project testable.

Questions people usually ask

What counts as shipped?

A real person can access, review, or use the bounded result. Internal polishing alone does not count.

What happens to ideas outside the scope?

They are preserved in a later list but cannot silently enter the active Journey.

Can I change the result?

Yes, but the Journey explicitly records whether you shrank, replaced, paused, or stopped the original result.
