Decide Whether to Continue, Pause, or Stop

Use recent evidence to choose whether to continue, pause, stop, or set a new Journey outcome.

3–7 daysOne review plus one reversible test when useful4 milestonesSelf-guided by defaultCompanion optional

This may be the right Journey if...

You can name recent evidence from the work itself
You are choosing among continue, pause, stop, or a new Journey outcome
A bounded review or reversible test would reduce uncertainty

Choose another approach if...

The decision is urgent or involves immediate safety
Medical, legal, regulated financial, abuse, crisis, or other professional judgment is required
Another person controls the consequences and direct support is needed first

What you should have after 3–7 days

State the decision and its real alternatives
Review recent evidence and recurring constraints
Choose a reversible test or explicit review condition

What this Journey includes

1

Frame the decision

State what is being decided and which alternatives are real.

2

Review evidence

Separate recent results, constraints, assumptions, and sunk effort.

3

Run one reversible test when useful

Gather the next piece of evidence without making an irreversible commitment.

4

Choose and set a boundary

Continue, pause, stop, redirect, or set a specific review condition.

When the plan goes off course

Missing a step is treated as information, not failure.

Northbound checks whether the step was too large, badly timed, blocked by a constraint, or no longer pointed at the right result. Then your Wayfinder offers one smaller, better-timed, or more honest next step.

Default adjustment: reduce review to one decisive question.

Privacy and Companion

Private reasoning stays private. You choose whether to share a limited decision summary with a Personal Companion.
Your Wayfinder conversation, private notes, and setup answers stay private unless you explicitly share them.
A Companion can see only milestones or summaries you choose to send; they cannot open your private Wayfinder chat.
You can continue self-guided and invite or remove support separately from the Journey plan.

Preview of the first step

Write the decision in one sentence and name the next piece of evidence that could change it.

Questions people usually ask

Will Northbound tell me whether to quit?

No. It helps structure evidence and alternatives, then leaves the decision with you.

What if I still cannot decide?

If one fact could change the choice, the Journey defines a reversible test. If responsible guidance is not possible, it routes you to appropriate human help.

Does stopping count as failure?

No. A deliberate stop after review is a valid Journey result.
