Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Northbound AI handles information when you use Northbound AI, the Northbound website, early access forms, Quick Reset and Journey previews, and early application flows.
What Northbound is
Northbound helps people find a realistic next step, optionally keep a short Journey, check in, adjust when conditions change, and optionally invite one trusted Personal Companion for a specific Journey.
Northbound is not a medical, mental health, legal, financial, crisis, or emergency service.
Information we may collect
Depending on the feature you use, Northbound may process account details, email address, Quick Reset content, Journey titles and setup answers, intended results, milestones, next steps, check-ins, help requests, messages, Companion invitations, acceptance or decline status, privacy settings, waitlist submissions, timestamps, and technical request information.
When the Product Layer is enabled, Northbound stores adaptive Journey state such as Quick Reset sessions, Journey outcome, Current Reality, Current Focus, the current Next Move, Results, Waiting items, and Journey Memory. Journey Memory may include confirmed facts you enter and limited Wayfinder inferences that you can review, correct, or remove in supported product flows.
The public website does not require an account to browse public pages. A private Journey, invite acceptance, Companion relationship, synced app flow, or early access feature may require an account or contact information.
Sign-in and sessions
Northbound may support Google and email sign-in. When you use a sign-in provider, Northbound receives account identity information needed to create or find your account, such as provider subject ID, email address, email verification status, and basic profile fields returned by that provider.
Northbound uses secure session cookies to keep you signed in. Session records are account-security data and are separate from Journey content, Wayfinder conversation, and Companion-shared updates.
AI processing
Northbound may send the text you provide, relevant Journey state, and limited recent context to AI services in order to generate suggestions, summaries, check-in responses, next-step options, Waiting guidance, and Journey Memory updates. AI output does not automatically change Journey state, send data to a Companion, or confirm a milestone without a product action that allows it.
We design prompts and product flows to avoid hidden personality labels, diagnosis, moral judgment, or undisclosed sharing. AI suggestions can be wrong or incomplete, and you should review important decisions yourself.
Companion visibility
A Personal Companion is scoped to one Participant and one Journey. By default, your Companion can see agreed milestones, submitted review items, help requests, shared summaries, and updates you explicitly preview and send. Your private Northbound chat, personal notes, drafts, other Journeys, and hidden AI assumptions are never shared with a Companion.
Sensitive Journey Memory is not shared with a Companion by default, even if it helps the Wayfinder personalize support. Companion sharing should use the minimum relevant summary for the situation, not a raw private transcript or unrelated personal context.
Before sending a shared update, Northbound should show who will see it and what data is included.
Website, waitlist, and security data
Our hosting, analytics, security, and infrastructure providers may process ordinary request information such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, timestamp, device information, logs, and security signals to deliver the website, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, and maintain reliability.
Product and AI observability may record privacy-safe metadata such as route, status, locale, schema version, model name, latency, validation class, Journey event type, and redacted Product Layer payload summaries. General analytics and trace logs should not include raw private Journey text, private notes, setup answers, Wayfinder messages, or hidden hypotheses.
If you join early access or submit a Journey draft request, we collect your email address, the page where the form was submitted, submission time, and any optional Journey interest or draft detail you choose to provide. We use this to contact you about Northbound and understand early product interest.
Retention and deletion
We retain account, Journey, invite, and support data for as long as needed to provide the feature, maintain safety and reliability, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes. Waitlist and early access emails are retained until you request removal or the list is no longer needed.
You can request deletion of waitlist information or ask privacy questions by contacting support@northboundpath.com. Some technical logs or backup copies may take additional time to expire.
Children
The current preview is intended for adults. Northbound does not currently support child profiles or Journey participation by minors. Any future support for minors would require a separate consent flow, access model, data policy, and legal review before release.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product changes. Material changes will be published on this page with a revised effective date before they apply to released functionality.
